Welcome to Mind Body Dog canine massage therapy. Massage therapy provides the same benefits for animals as it does for humans and along with regular veterinary visits, daily exercise and a healthy diet; massage therapy helps keep your dogs body in balance. Although very beneficial for healthy, active dogs, Massage therapy and bodywork is extremely beneficial for senior dogs, those with mobility issues, and those recovering from surgery. When used along with T-Touch techniques, massage can also be very helpful for dogs with fear and anxiety issues. Each session is tailored to your dog’s specific needs. Some of the benefits of massage are:

• Greater joint flexibility and increases range of motion
• Relief of muscle tension and stiffness
• Shortened healing time of strained muscles and sprained ligaments
• Reducing formation of excessive scar tissue (less scar tissue build up means better mobility)
• Improving proprioception (the outside information feedback mechanism in the animal's body that helps with movement and balance)
• Improving circulation of blood and movement of lymphatic fluids
• Reducing pain and swelling
• Strengthening the immune system
• Stimulating liver and kidney functions, aiding with digestion
• Promoting deeper and easier breathing
• Enhancing the health and nourishment of the skin and coat
• Reducing anxiety

All massages sessions are provided in the pet’s home where they are most comfortable. Sessions include Swedish massage, gentle bodywork and stretching and typically run between 40-60 minutes.
