Welcome to Mind - Body - Dog

Shawn Kay’s love of animals began as child in Los Angeles, CA where she grew up with a menagerie of pets including dogs, cats, a rabbit, a bird and a rat. Her career working with animals began 8 years ago when she became involved with The Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee. There she began as a volunteer, completed her internship and was hired as a Care Giver to the Sanctuary’s three African Elephants. Working with Elephants gave Shawn a new, profound respect for all animals and her work there was the beginning of a new life’s purpose.
Since the sanctuary, Shawn has focused on learning as much as she could in regards to animal care and welfare. Working now primarily with pets, Shawn is a former Veterinary Technician and has worked at two Holistic Clinics as well as at a Veterinary Physical Rehabilitation clinic. Her knowledge of physical therapy is extremely beneficial in her massage work and utilized frequently. Also interested in animal behavior, Shawn trained with and worked as, a professional dog trainer teaching group and private classes.
